Reverberation control is a key to improve working environment in a large open space. Following North Sydney TAFE refurbishment, Acoustica was called to improve the sound quality. Design concept for refurbishment of the building had stripped all surfaces to bare concrete and had installed only new hard finish materials . It created an echo chamber across the four building levels that affected staff and customer service communication. Concrete floors had to be carpeted to stop the impact noise and hanging baffles did a fantastic job in reducing the reverberation time. The use of hanging baffles was also a great solution in being able to work around all the services. This acoustic design concept was carried across all building levels.
